Following the 2005 Global Conference, GPPAC entered its implementation phase. Based on the Regional Action Agendas each region developed its own Regional Work Plan, which in combination with the Global Action Agenda fed into the Global Work Plan 2007-2010. The Global Work Plan focuses on five key programme areas:

• Awareness Raising
• Interaction and Advocacy
• Network Building
• Knowledge Generation and Sharing
• Early Warning and Early Response
• Monitoring and Evaluation
