Worldview Rights
Worldview Rights is an independent
body operating from Norway and cooperates with the Worldview Group. Its vision
is to give a voice to the voiceless and put media in the hands of the oppressed,
to promote democratisation of media and knowledge thereby assuring the broadest
possible public participation in legal elections and social development in
the society at large. Worldview is an initiator and operator of one of the
world’s fast growing TV channels Worldview Channel (including “Young Asia
TV”), which focuses on environment and democracy. This Channel attracts more
than 40 million viewers a day in Asia, Africa and Latin-America. Worldview
Rights has also opened radio channels which broadcast to Burma and Nigeria,
based on editorial services and transmissions from Stavanger and Oslo, respectively.
On the Korean peninsula, Worldview Rights has been a facilitator for a “cultural
dialogue” process between one of the world’s most closed societies, North
Korea and neighbouring South Korea.
