Pakistan Press Foundation
The Pakistan Press Foundation (PPF)
is a non-profit media research, documentation and training centre. The PPF
is committed to defending and promoting freedom of the press in Pakistan and
internationally. The foundation produces PPF NewsFlash, and the annual Pakistan
Press Freedom Reports to highlight
threats to press freedom in Pakistan. The PPF also disseminates information
received from international press freedom organisations to the national media.
The monthly PPF MediaFile, covers
major issues related to the Pakistani media. The PPF regularly organises workshops
and seminars on important issues facing Pakistani media. Besides imparting
basic training to rural journalists, the training programme aims to raise
the awareness of rural journalists regarding their rights and responsibilities.
The PPF actively collaborates with media organisations working to promote
peacebuilding.
