Medios para la Paz
Medios para la Paz is a local non-profit,
non-governmental organisation. The main objective is to improve the press coverage on the civil war in Colombia and
on peace efforts. This coupled with
the need to provide media practitioners with professional tools to assist
them in their difficult and dangerous task in order to reinforce an ethical
and responsible journalism. The activities focus on areas such as conflict
resolution, Colombian legislation, international law, international humanitarian
law, and journalistic techniques for covering and reporting on war and on
the incipient efforts to peace. The organisation’s goal is an improvement
of journalists’ understanding of national security problems.
