Canal 6 de Julio
Canal 6 de Julio produces and distributes
documentaries, covering subjects such as elections, human rights, economy,
policy issues, armed counter-insurgency and armed groups, that are not covered
by commercial television. In addition to promoting freedom of expression,
Canal 6 de Julio also been fights for the right of information by unravelling
events through images, which were censored or denied by other actors. The
Channel’s mission is to balance the information and ‘misinformation’ of the
official and private media, giving a voice to those sectors that do not have
access to information on political, economic and social subjects, and human
rights through the media. Canal 6 de Julio aims to give a voice to those who
do not have a voice in society, it acts as a video magazine as well as the
historical memory, and it is an organisation whose work has been seen by a
broad audience in Mexico and beyond.
